Established 44 years ago growing rhododendrons at their 1 acre home of selling them off the back of a flatbed pick up truck, Black Forest Nursery was the vision by Bob and Nancy Towle to provide a local garden center for an area that did not have a business offering landscape plants for residents. Over the years they continued to grow by purchasing land in the neighboring town of Franklin to grow more varieties of shrubs. As the years continued, they expanded their selection of plants to include trees, annuals, perennials and hardgoods of soils, fertilizers, mulches and garden art.
In 2000 they outgrew their location and moved their retail business just down the road to a beautiful 3.86 acre piece of land where quality plants, a large varieties of shrubs, trees, annuals, perennials, fruits, and excellent pricing has drawn people from all over the state, Maine, Vermont and Massachusetts.
In 2013 the business passed to their daughter Suzanne who has continued to expand the selection of high quality plants and services.
Black Forest Nursery is proud to have hosted the annual Plant Growers Association meeting in 2018 and be acknowledged by Best Things NH as one of the top 3 best garden centers in the state.
The continuing goal of Black Forest Nursery is to press into the future providing excellent quality plants, knowledgeable staff and excellent services to our customers, an enriched employment opportunity to our employees, and active participation and enhancement in our beloved home town of Boscawen, NH.

Brenda BandAmazing place. You can tell that the staff truly cares about their work. I went in there wanting to find a few bushes to go in the front of my house but had no idea what to look for. A woman working there was so friendly and informative and with her help, I found exactly what I needed. I will definitely be coming back!
